Seth A. Thompson

Chief Diversity Officer/Director, Office of Diversity Education and Support Services

Seth Thompson is originally from Syracuse, New York. Seth began working at Tompkins Cortland in 2006, serving as the Director of Multicultural Services. Currently, he serves the college community by ensuring that the mission and values of diversity, equity, and inclusion are being operationalized in the area and services provided. Before joining Tompkins Cortland he served as the Assistant Director of Residence Life, Director of Diversity Life and New Student Orientation at SUNY Canton. Seth holds an Associate’s degree in Liberal Arts from SUNY Canton, a Bachelor’s degree in History and Master’s of Science in Education degree from SUNY Potsdam.

Timothy Thompson

Coordinator of Multicultural Services and Student Success Coach

Timothy is originally from the Bronx, N.Y. He comes to Tompkins Cortland Community College with a wide range of experience working with students from underrepresented communities. His past work includes student development initiatives, multicultural workshops and inclusive programming. He is passionate about supporting students, maximizing their academic potential and preparing them for life after college. Timothy is a graduate of Tompkins Cortland CC and SUNY Cortland where he respectively earned an Associate’s and Bachelor’s of Science degree in Sport Management with a concentration in International Sport.

Kimari Johnson

English Faculty and ODESS Faculty Transition Advisor

Kimari is from the Chicagoland area and received her Bachelor's degree from Oberlin College and Master’s of Fine Arts from Cornell University. In addition to teaching English, she has experience working in equal opportunity programs, tutoring centers, and literacy programs. She is devoted to preparing all students for global citizenship.

Tracey Brunner


For Tracey Brunner, Dryden, New York is her hometown.  She is a graduate of Tompkins Cortland CC and SUNY Cortland. Tracey, supports the mission of the office by managing and assisting with the daily operations of the Mentor Program and cross-cultural programs. Tracey also participates and provides direct support for the Diversity Equity Action Council.
