December 6, 2013
Tompkins Cortland Community College men's soccer player Morgan Shutter (Odessa-Montour H.S./Alpine) has been named an All-American by the National Junior College Athletics Association (NJCAA). The freshman was named to the Division III All-America second team. A total of 22 players were honored, including just seven freshmen.
Shutter adds the All-American honor to an impressive list of accomplishments. He was named to the Region III All-Region team and was chosen the Mid-State Athletic Conference Player of the Year. He led Tompkins Cortland in scoring with 24 points (10 goals and four assists), helping the Panthers to an undefeated regular season and an appearance in the Region III championship game.
Shutter is the first Tompkins Cortland men’s soccer player to receive NJCAA All-American honors since 2010 (Lucas Heffron) and the sixth all time.
