College App Honored as Best of New York
September 9, 2015
Tompkins Cortland Community College has been presented a "Best of New York Award" from e.Republic's Center for Digital Government. The awards recognize state and local government organizations for their standout contributions, best practices, and works of distinction in information technology that improves citizen services.
The College was recognized for the “Best In-House Developed Application” for its new students START appointment self-scheduling system. START, which stands for Student Transition: Advisement, Registration, and Testing, is required for all new degree-seeking students entering the College. The START app was developed to allow students to schedule these appointments online, making the process quicker and easier. It also allows staff to better manage the workload while providing more accurate data.
The Center for Digital Government is a national research and advisory institute on information technology policies and best practices in state and local government. The Center is a division of e.Republic, the nation’s only media and research company focused exclusively on state and local government and education.
