Technical Requirements

Successful navigation through an online course requires that your computer meet the specifications below. If your computer does not meet the requirements, technical support may be limited and you may run into problems viewing and using components of your courses.

Hardware Requirements

ANGEL is a web-based application should work reliably on almost any computer that is capable of accessing the Internet. Older computers may run slower or may not be able to handle some of the media in certain courses, but should suffice if a newer computer is not available.

SUNY Learning Network can test your system to verify compatibility. Also, the student computer recommendation will meet or exceed the hardware requirements.

Operating System

  • Microsoft Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7
  • Mac OS X: 10.3 or higher

Hardware

  • 256 MB of RAM
  • 1GB free hard disk space
  • High-speed Internet connection

Software

  • Word processor, Microsoft PowerPoint or PowerPoint Viewer, Adobe Reader
  • Some courses may require additional software

Internet Connectivity

A broadband Internet connection such as DSL or Cable is recommended for best results with online courses. Access to a computer with a dial-up connection is an absolute minimum.

Pop-up Blocker

The Pop-up Blocker in your web browser either needs to be off or set it to allow pop-up windows from the tc3.sln.suny.edu domain.
