More than you might expect
Ben Currens served two tours in Iraq with the 101st Airborne and one in Afghanistan before attending Tompkins Cortland Community College. While at Tompkins Cortland, he was recognized by the New York State Sociological Association for a paper on the relationship between family background and educational accessibility.
"This school was a lot more than I expected. I had the old impression of a community college," he said. "I was continually impressed by the size of classes, the approachability of instructors, and the quality of instructors."
Ben is now a student in Cornell University's College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.
