Opening her mind
Rosanna Perez, a member of Tompkins Cortland Community College's class of 2011, traveled to the Dominican Republic as part of a study abroad internship in hotel and restaurant management. She worked at Hodelpa's Gran Almirante Hotel in Santiago, the premier property and only five-star hotel owned by Hodelpa. The hotel has a casino and all imaginable amenities, including a spa, multiple restaurants, and more.
"Traveling to the Dominican Republic to study and to work has opened my mind in ways I might never have imagined - I see new possibilities and ideas for my future. This is the best possible learning experience I could have had, and Tompkins Cortland made it possible," says Rosanna, who was able to make the trip with the help of the Elaine Brophy Squires Study Abroad Scholarship through the College Foundation.
