A future that works
Sustainable isn't a buzzword at TC3. It's a common-sense approach to the future, and the College is a leader in providing sustainability education to our students and our community - even moreso now that the College has partnered with Alfred State College, five other community colleges, and the Association of Builders and Contractors to form SUNY GREENS NY, which received a $2 million grant from New York State Energy Research and Development Authority to develop and expand clean energy technology training.
TC3's program administrator is In Shik Lee, who has taught design classes at TC3 for ten years and co-owns an architectural design and construction business. She will oversee the development of classes geared for people in the green construction field looking to receive green-building certifications.
In addition to the SUNY GREENS NY project, the College has also introduced an innovative new Sustainability Designation for its students. The designation complements existing associate degree programs and allows students to complete a coherent course of study in sustainability as part of their academic program.
