Carrie Burlingame-Powers

Making college work for herCarrie Burlingame-Powers

Just hearing about Carrie Burlingame-Powers' week will tire you out.

  • She works full time.
  • She attends TC3 full time with the help of independent study classes, online courses, and some high-test determination.
  • She has two children.
  • She coaches her daughter's cheerleading team.
  • She is Den Mother for her son's Cub Scout pack.

And, this isn't her first time balancing a busy life with a full complement of classes. Carrie has already earned one associate's degree from TC3 and a bachelor's degree from Cortland State. But, after deciding she wanted to change careers and work with children with autism, she decided to return to study Early Childhood Education and Human Services with plans to earn another bachelor's degree and a master's degree in the future.

"TC3 has been so helpful in allowing me to arrange my schedule. If I want to wake up at 3 a.m. to do homework, I can."
